Sean scans the street.
A cyclist slows.
A car adjusts speed.
Same interval.
“That’s not coincidence,” he says.
“No.”
“It’s not reaction either.”
She glances at him.
“No delay.”
He watches again.
She’s right.
No pause.
No decision.
Just movement.
“They’re not seeing it first,” she says.
“They’re already doing it.”
They cross the street.
Another voice:
“…that’s not what I meant.”
No break this time.
Just the sentence.
Eljara slows slightly.

“They skipped the correction.”
Sean exhales.
“That means they don’t feel it anymore.”
A pause.
They reach the other side.
People pass.
Talk.
Adjust.
Continue.
Same rhythm.
Same structure.
No one reacts.
“That should cause friction,” she says.
“It doesn’t.”
“Why not?”
Sean looks at the flow.
At how smooth it is now.
“Because it works.”
She frowns.
“That’s not enough.”
“It is.”

“If it works, no one questions it.”
Another voice passes them:
“…that’s not what I meant.”

Immediate.
Final.
Eljara watches the man disappear into the crowd.
“That’s not repeating anymore,” she says.
“No.”
“Then what is it?”
Sean doesn’t look away from the street.
“It’s just how they talk now.”
Silence.
People keep moving.
No hesitation.
No correction.
No resistance.
Everything flows.
Perfectly.
