Cookie Policy (EU)

This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies Mythveil Chronicles uses. You can give, refuse or withdraw optional consent at any time through the cookie settings control.

1. Necessary cookies and local storage

These are required to display the consent choice, keep it stored and operate essential website functions. They are used without optional consent under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where applicable, § 25(2) TDDDG.

• Complianz consent settings (cmplz_policy_id, cmplz_banner-status, cmplz_consented_services, cmplz_functional, cmplz_preferences, cmplz_statistics, cmplz_marketing): records and applies your consent choice; normally 365 days.
• WordPress session and preference cookies (for example PHPSESSID and WordPress preference cookies): only where a visitor uses a feature that requires a session or preferences; session or, for preference settings, up to one year.

2. Statistics – only with consent

• Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_WSMFBZWE8X): aggregate website-use measurement; provider Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited; generally up to 2 years.
• Jetpack Statistics: aggregate reach and page-use statistics; provider Automattic Inc. / WordPress.com; storage period according to the provider configuration.

Statistics are activated only after consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.

Cookieless website statistics with Burst Statistics

We use Burst Statistics in cookieless mode to measure website use, including page views, referral sources and interactions. Statistics are stored in this website’s WordPress database. Burst uses an anonymous daily hash, does not set tracking cookies and does not recognise visitors across days or sessions. Browser “Do Not Track” requests are honoured. Burst’s optional sharing of anonymous usage data is disabled. This cookieless measurement operates independently of the cookie banner’s optional statistics consent; consent-dependent analytics and marketing services remain subject to your banner choices.

3. Marketing – only with consent

• Google Ads (_gcl_au, _gcl_ls): advertising measurement and conversion attribution; provider Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited; usually up to 90 days.
• Meta Pixel (_fbp, _fbc): measurement of advertising reach and conversions; provider Meta Platforms Ireland Limited / Meta Platforms, Inc.; usually up to 90 days.

Marketing technologies are activated only after consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG.

4. Newsletter

MailPoet is used to administer subscriptions. Cookies or similar storage connected with a subscription are used only when you subscribe or interact with the newsletter form. Subscription data is retained until consent is withdrawn or statutory retention duties require longer storage.

5. WordPress.com hosting performance telemetry

This site is hosted by WordPress.com. Its Bilmur performance script may transmit technical performance values, page path, browser/device context and connection data, including the IP address necessary for the request, to WordPress.com (Automattic, including pixel.wp.com). It is used to operate, secure and improve hosting performance, not by Mythveil for personalised advertising or marketing profiles. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Automattic may process data in the United States; transfers are subject to the safeguards described in Automattic’s privacy information. Retention of this infrastructure telemetry is controlled by Automattic.

6. International transfers

Google, Meta and Automattic may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards. More detail about personal-data processing is available in our Privacy Policy.

7. Changes

We update this policy when technologies or legal requirements change.
