Priests frowned.

“So we should fear knowledge?”

“No.”

The old warrior picked up one of the merchant’s books.

He smiled.

Almost sadly.

“The day knowledge no longer accepts limits.”

The wind turned the pages.

“But if we stop asking questions…”

“We stop growing.”

“And if we never stop?”

For the first time, Caelwyn didn’t answer immediately.

“Then eventually…”

“…we stop asking whether we should.”

The merchant smiled.

The villagers applauded.

The future had arrived.

Without a single sword being drawn.
