THE WARNING SIGNS Warhammer 30/40k
The Hall of Threats was built to teach fear.
Tyranids.
Necrons.
Orks.
Tau.
Eldar.
Drukhari.
The monsters beyond humanity’s borders.
The enemies waiting in the dark.
At least that was the official lesson.
Stacy stood beneath the skull of a Tyranid bioform larger than a transport vehicle.
Rows of teeth.
Endless hunger frozen in bone.
Stacy:
What do they want?
Caelwyn:
More.
The answer felt too simple.
The gallery continued.
Necrons.
A civilization that feared death so much it surrendered almost everything else.
Orks.
A people who turned conflict into culture until war became identity.
Tau.
A dream of unity so complete that disagreement itself became suspicious.
Eldar.
A civilization that had everything.
And forgot where enough ended.
Drukhari.
Survival pursued so completely that morality became optional.
Different stories.
Different tragedies.
The same warning.
Every one of them began with something reasonable.
Something useful.
Something worth protecting.
Survival.
Strength.
Peace.
Hope.
Purpose.
Belonging.
The problem was never the beginning.
The problem was never stopping.
The gallery ended before a single inscription:
KNOW YOUR ENEMY
Stacy stared at the words for a long time.
Then slowly shook her head.
Stacy:
That’s wrong.
Caelwyn:
Why?
Silence.
She looked back toward the exhibits.
Toward the monsters.
Toward the warnings.
Stacy:
Because this place doesn’t teach us what they became.
A pause.
Stacy:
It teaches us how they happened.
And suddenly the monsters felt closer than before.
Not because they were approaching.
Because the road leading toward them looked frighteningly familiar.
