Stacy:
“It still works.”
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
Stacy:
“It’s more stable now.”
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
Stacy:
“If you move with it… it holds.”
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
Stacy:
“It’s easier this way.”
A pause.
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
That stops her.
Stacy:
“So why don’t we just follow it?”
Silence.
Caelwyn:
“We could.”
Stacy:
“Then we should.”
He doesn’t move.
She notices.
Stacy:
“It works.”
A longer pause.
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
Stacy:
“Better than before.”
He nods.
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
That should be enough.
It isn’t.
Stacy:
“So what’s the problem?”
A beat.
Caelwyn:
“It doesn’t ask anything.”
Stacy:
“That’s good.”
Another pause.
Caelwyn:
“It used to.”
Silence.
Stacy:
“I don’t have to think about it.”
That one stays.
Caelwyn:
“No.”
A step forward—
then she stops.
Barely.
Stacy:
“…it would be easier.”
Caelwyn:
“Yes.”
The path holds.
Waiting.
Perfect.
