Mara:
“They’re still playing.”
Chibi:
“Yes.”
Mara:
“They don’t stop.”
Chibi:
“No.”
A boy stumbles.
Catches himself.
Keeps moving.
Mara:
“That should have ended it.”
Chibi:
“Yes.”
She steps inside the circle.
Mara:
“It holds.”
Chibi:
“Yes.”
Another step.
The line stays.
Mara:
“If you keep going…”
A pause.
Chibi:
“Yes.”
Children run past.
Too close.
Never touching.
Mara:
“They’re better at it.”
Chibi:
“Yes.”
Mara:
“They don’t lose.”
A beat.
Chibi:
“They don’t stop.”
She slows.
The line trembles.
She steps again.
It stabilizes.
Mara:
“It wants you to keep going.”
Chibi:
“Yes.”
Another step.
Mara:
“It’s easier.”
Another.
Mara:
“I don’t have to decide.”
Silence.
Chibi:
“No.”
She watches them.
No one leaving.
No one stopping.
Mara:
“Do they know?”
A pause.
Chibi:
“They don’t need to.”
She looks at the edge.
Mara:
“If I step out…”
The line shifts.
Waiting.
Mara:
“…it changes.”
She steps again.
It holds.
Mara:
“So I don’t step out.”
Chibi:
“No.”
A longer pause.
Mara:
“When does it end?”
Silence.
Chibi:
“It doesn’t.”
She keeps moving.
The line holds.
Of course it does.

🜍 Week 3 — It doesn’t end
Warhammer Fantasy Roleplaying Game — The Old World
It doesn’t force you.
It continues.
If you stop, it changes.
If you don’t—
you don’t notice.
If you remember what this felt like—
you already know what you’re missing.
Step back into it.
Or keep missing it.
