For two months, the city slept.
Not peacefully — but like a patient under too much morphine.
The hunts stopped.
The sirens faded.
Even the ghosts seemed to take a breath.
They called it stabilization.
The Archon called it order.
But everyone else just called it silence.
Now December has arrived —
and the silence is starting to crack.
The first snow of winter doesn’t fall; it lingers.
The lights at the airport flicker without wind.
In the tunnels below Terminal 2, someone is moving old crates marked with a sigil no one recognizes —
a circle inside a circle, burned into steel.
At the river’s edge, a new drug whispers in the bloodstream:
“Crimson Echo.”
It doesn’t make you high.
It makes you remember things you never lived.
And in the Residenz — empty, sealed, immaculate —
a mirror fogs over from the inside.
Someone breathes behind the glass.
They say the city is calm again.
But calm is just another word for waiting.
