STACY: “The tomb had been sealed for three thousand years.”
CAELWYN: “Until Professor Whitmore opened it.”
STACY: “He expected a mummy. Perhaps a curse. Perhaps an ancient treasure.”
CAELWYN: “Instead, a man in an immaculate black suit stood beside the sarcophagus.”
STACY: “He knew the professor’s name.”
CAELWYN: “And smiled when Whitmore raised his revolver.”
STACY: “Then the man touched a damaged carving. Its missing face returned.”
CAELWYN: “It was the professor’s face.”
STACY: “The soldiers fired. The bullets struck nothing.”
CAELWYN: “And suddenly every statue in the chamber turned its head.”
STACY: “This was no mummy.”
CAELWYN: “Nyarlathotep. The Crawling Chaos. A being that does not merely terrify humanity.”
STACY: “It understands us.”
CAELWYN: “And knows exactly what we desire.”
STACY: “In Pulp Cthulhu, heroes can fight, investigate, rescue people and escape impossible dangers.”
CAELWYN: “But how do you fight an enemy who wanted you to find him?”
STACY: “Whitmore refused the god’s invitation.”
CAELWYN: “And Nyarlathotep applauded.”
STACY: “Perhaps the professor had won.”
CAELWYN: “Or perhaps that was precisely what the god wanted.”
STACY: “So here is our question.”
CAELWYN: “If a being could reveal the truth about the universe, but you knew it was manipulating you—would you still listen?”
STACY: “The darkness has answered. Now the choice is yours.”
