Chibi

Can two people have the same dream?

Mara

Sometimes.

Chibi

Then why do they argue?

Mara

Because they don’t dream the same ending.

(A quiet summer breeze moves through the grass.)

Chibi

Father says everyone wants a better life.

Mara

I think he’s right.

Chibi

Then why isn’t everyone happy when things change?

Mara

Because tomorrow doesn’t look the same…

from every window.

(Silence.)

Chibi

Can a dream become dangerous?

Mara

Not by itself.

Chibi

Then what makes it dangerous?

(She watches the lights of London appear in the distance.)

Mara

Forgetting…

that other people dream too.
