⚒️ The Day That Never Ends 🎲 PLAY EPIC. FEEL THE STORY. Game: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition Campaign: Mythveil Chronicles Theme: June · The Old Ways · Midsummer Night · The Moment Before More

The music should have ended hours ago.

Nobody wants it to.

The bonfires burn.

The ale flows.

The dancers laugh.

The summer night feels endless.

And for once—

everyone is happy.

Truly happy.

The village survived winter.

The fields are full.

The stars are bright.

The world feels generous.

“You were wrong.”

Eljara watches the celebration.

“This is harmless.”

Sean smiles.

“I know.”

That is what makes it difficult.

Nothing is wrong.

The music is beautiful.

The laughter is genuine.

The joy is real.

Nobody is pretending.

Nobody is lying.

The night is exactly as wonderful as it appears.

And somehow that makes Sean uneasy.

A song ends.

The dancers applaud.

For one perfect moment—

everything feels complete.

The perfect ending.

Then someone shouts:

“Another song!”

The crowd erupts.

The musicians begin again.

Louder.

Faster.

Stronger.

Sean sighs.

“There.”

“What?”

“The oldest mistake.”

The bonfires crackle.

The music swells.

The celebration grows larger.

“What mistake?”

Sean watches the crowd.

“Believing a beautiful moment becomes more beautiful if you refuse to let it end.”

Silence.

Because suddenly it becomes obvious.

Nobody is celebrating the night anymore.

They are fighting the dawn.

Not consciously.

Not deliberately.

But desperately.

One more song.

One more dance.

One more drink.

One more hour.

Always one more.

The festival becomes brighter.

The music becomes louder.

The joy becomes stronger.

Everything remains good.

That is the danger.

Not corruption.

Not evil.

Attachment.

The inability to let go.

The belief that if something is beautiful enough—

it should last forever.

The stars emerge overhead.

The bonfires illuminate smiling faces.

The entire village glows with life.

And for one impossible night—

it almost feels true.

“Do you think this is where the Ruinous Powers begin?”

Sean watches the celebration carefully.

The music.

The beauty.

The warmth.

The laughter.

Then he shakes his head.

“No.”

“No?”

The old bard smiles sadly.

“They begin later.”

A pause.

“When?”

The crowd cheers again.

The musicians play harder.

The night grows brighter.

Sean’s answer is almost lost beneath the music.

“The moment someone decides this feeling matters more than the truth.”

And somewhere beyond the bonfires—

beyond the songs—

beyond the perfect summer night—

something listens.

Waiting for someone to ask for more.

⚒️ Month 6 — The Old Ways

⚒️ Week 2 — The Day That Never Ends

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition

The music continues.

The fire still burns.

The stars still shine.

The perfect night refuses to end.

And somewhere within every celebration lives the temptation to believe it never should.
