Chibi looks at her.
“No.”
Mara frowns.
“Why not?”
“We don’t.”
Silence.
She looks toward the window.
People outside move.
Walking.
Talking.
Adjusting.
Continuing.
Same rhythm.
“They don’t stop either,” she says.
“No.”
“They just keep going.”
“Yeah.”
A pause.
Mara pulls her knees closer.
“It felt different before.”
Chibi watches her.
“You didn’t see it.”
“I did.”
“No.”
A beat.
“You were in it.”
Silence.
Mara looks down.
“That means it was always like this.”
“Yeah.”
“That means nothing changed.”
“No.”
Another pause.
“Then why does it feel like something happened?”
Chibi tilts his head.
“You noticed.”
Mara exhales slowly.
“That’s it?”
“Yeah.”
Silence.
She looks back outside.
A man steps around someone.
Keeps walking.
Perfect.
No hesitation.
“They don’t know,” she says quietly.
“No.”
“Do we?”
Chibi looks at her.
“Yes.”
A pause.
“That doesn’t help.”
“No.”
Silence.
Mara leans back slightly.
“So what do we do?”
Chibi doesn’t hesitate.
“We keep going.”
She looks at him.
“That’s not an answer.”
“It is.”
Silence.
Mara looks at her hands.
Nothing changes.
Nothing opens.
Nothing stops.
It just…
continues.
“Does it ever end?” she asks.
“No.”
“Does anything change?”
“No.”
A long pause.
Mara looks outside one last time.
Everything moving.
Everything fitting.
Everything continuing.
And now—
it doesn’t feel strange anymore.
It just feels… finished.
Like whatever comes next
was already there.
Waiting.
Because it never needed to change.
Only to keep going.
