🜍 Mara & Chibi Present — “The Miskatonic Christmas That Should Not Be”

Mara was just trying to wrap presents.
Tiny paper stars.
A ribbon that refused to behave.
Normal stuff.
Then Chibi walked in
carrying a bundle of PDFs
glowing like they’d been printed on radioactive wrapping paper.
Chibi (already too excited):
“Mara… I found Christmas.”
The top file twitched.
Actually twitched.
Like something inside wanted out.
Mara frowned:
“Chibi… books don’t move.”
Chibi grinned — that grin that means absolutely nothing safe is happening.
He opened the first scenario.
A cold wind blew across the room.
But the window was closed.
From the page came the whisper of a hometown
that shouldn’t exist anymore.
A map where the roads looped back into themselves.
Footprints that pointed both directions at once.
Mara hugged her coat tighter:
“Why is it… humming?”
Chibi flipped another page.
A coffin-shaped calendar unfolded,
each day hiding a spell, a creature, a number you should never count to.
A third page showed a castle made of appetite
and a fast-food god that watches employees
from behind the grease on the ceiling.
Snow outside shifted.
Just a little.
Just enough to mean trouble.
Mara whispered:
“Chibi… I don’t think this is Christmas.”
Chibi (way too proud of himself):
“Oh, Mara…
this is Miskatonic Christmas.”
The final page turned on its own.
Ink rearranged itself into a single red X.
Right behind them.
The lights flickered.
Something knocked —
from inside the bundle.
Mara:
“…We’re not opening that last one.”
Chibi:
“Mara… it’s already opening.”
