🜍 HOUSE OF GLASS — WEEK 3 (World of Darkness) How Much of a Human Being Can Be Used

The call center never turns its lights off.

Rows of glowing monitors stretch endlessly behind glass.

Hundreds of voices speaking at once.

Polite.

Calm.

Scripted.

Eljara watches the employees through the rain-streaked windows.

“…this place feels wrong.”

Sean stands beside her beneath flickering neon.

“Yeah.”

A young woman inside removes her headset briefly.

Rubs her eyes.

Immediately—

a warning flashes red across her monitor:

PRODUCTIVITY DROP DETECTED

She straightens instantly.

Puts the headset back on before anyone even approaches her.

“…nobody even said anything to her,” Eljara whispers.

Sean watches the rows of workers carefully.

“She already learned.”

Above the lobby entrance—

massive digital screens glow softly:

WE CARE ABOUT PEOPLE
YOUR FUTURE MATTERS

Beneath the slogans—

security quietly escorts a man carrying a cardboard box toward the exit.

Card access revoked.

Employment terminated.

“I gave this company eleven years,” the man says quietly.

Nobody inside looks up.

Not one person.

The automatic doors close behind him.

Perfectly sealed again.

Inside—

the employees continue speaking into glowing headsets.

Debt.

Insurance.

Panic.

Loneliness.

All processed through smiling voices and productivity metrics.

Eljara stares at them.

“…they look exhausted.”

Sean nods slowly.

“They are.”

“Then why keep going?”

Lightning flashes across the glass facade.

For a moment—

the entire office floor shines white against the night.

Beautiful.

Sterile.

Endless.

Then Sean answers quietly:

“Because the system taught them being useful matters more than surviving.”

The rows of voices continue humming behind the glass.

Nobody stops.

Nobody rests.

The building keeps feeding.

🜍 HOUSE OF GLASS — WEEK 3

The city does not consume people all at once.

It uses them slowly.
Carefully.
Completely.

Until eventually—

even the soul becomes something
the system learns how to burn.

🜍 One theme. One month. One descent.
🜍 House of Glass. Consumption. Collapse.
