TIME AT THE EDGE — Week 2 (Blade Runner TTRPG)

Caelwyn & Stacy — Bruchlinien

The seminar room hasn’t changed.
The rain hasn’t stopped.
But the conversation has lost its patience.

Stacy:
Last week we said time is felt, not neutral.

Caelwyn:
That still stands.

Stacy:
It just doesn’t go far enough.

She brings up layered data. Transit schedules. Processing queues. Waiting lists.

Stacy:
Time isn’t only experienced differently.
It’s assigned differently.

Caelwyn:
Meaning some people move faster.

Stacy:
And some people wait.

She highlights a priority lane. Then a backlog.

Stacy:
Acceleration here.
Delay there.

Caelwyn:
So time becomes currency.

Stacy:
No.
Currency implies choice.

She switches the view.

Stacy:
This is leverage.

Caelwyn studies the pattern.

Caelwyn:
Waiting as punishment.

Stacy:
Exactly.
Miss a deadline — time collapses.
Miss a payment — time stretches.

Caelwyn:
And people stop acting.

Stacy:
Because action feels pointless when time is withheld.

A pause.

Caelwyn:
Acceleration isn’t freedom either.

Stacy:
No.
When everything speeds up, reflection disappears.
Mistakes multiply faster than correction.

Caelwyn:
So delay and speed are the same weapon.

Stacy:
Just pointed at different people.

The rain presses against the glass.

Caelwyn:
Then time isn’t background anymore.

Stacy:
It’s enforcement.

They sit with that.

Caelwyn:
And once you see it—

Stacy:
—you can’t unsee where it’s aimed.
