🜍 03.12 — STACY’S ADVENT: THE GIRL WHO DOESN’T BELIEVE IN CHRISTMAS

Â
Stacy never believed in Christmas.
Â
The technician in her calls it a scheduled illusion —
lights to distract from power shortages,
songs to mask the hum of a tired world,
tradition held together with duct tape and wishful thinking.
Â
“Magic isn’t real,” she always said,
wiping grease from her hands,
rolling her eyes at every sparkling window.
Â
But the healer in her knows something different.
Â
She sees it in the way Caelwyn softens
when Mara laughs.
She sees it in Eljara’s stubborn warmth,
in Chibi’s chaos that somehow brings everyone together.
She sees it in the hours
when no one fights
and everyone breathes the same quiet air.
Â
She knows
there’s a kind of light
that doesn’t come from cables or sockets.
A kind that only appears
when people choose to sit close
and let themselves belong.
Â
So tonight,
Stacy doesn’t believe in Christmas.
Â
But she believes in them.
In the family you choose.
In the strange, mismatched,
ridiculously human miracle
of not being alone.
Â
And maybe —
just maybe —
that’s the only kind of Christmas
that ever mattered.
