Enter the world of Andaluria.
Enter the world
Night settles over Andaluria, warm as the tiles beneath a sleeping cat. In Valcera, lanterns sway above the wine festival, and the air smells of jasmine, toasted almonds and supper running late. A grandmother ties a red thread around a child’s wrist before sending him out to dance. Across the square, a carpet merchant weighs down his finest rug with bricks. It has been trying to follow the moon again. Then a woman in wedding silk drops from a balcony onto its embroidered back, a drawn sabre in her hand. "The harbour," she tells the astonished merchant. "I’ll explain on the way."
Welcome to a land of whitewashed villages, sun-warmed vineyards and palaces where fountains whisper beneath carved arches. Here, the earthy folklore of Aquelarre meets the enchanted adventures of Al-Qadim and One Thousand and One Nights. A djinn may honour a promise for centuries; a fisherman may know why the sea has begun returning wedding rings. There are masquerades to slip into, rooftops to race across and forbidden rooms whose keys have been waiting for the right thief. Between adventures, there is time for shared bread, terrible jokes, friendship and, if you wish, a little romance. People have lives worth knowing before anyone asks you to save them.
But the nights are growing longer, and some of the old protections are failing. Beyond the festival lights, something walks among the vines wearing a missing man’s coat. As adventurers and monster hunters, you can follow its tracks, question the people who knew him, seek a forgotten remedy or prepare an ambush. Clues lead to truths you can uncover; the choices are yours. A flashing blade can save a life, a bargain can change a household, and a kindness may be remembered long after the village has forgotten who won the duel. Enemies pursue their own ambitions, promises carry weight, and even heroes can die. Love, courage and cleverness can also make tomorrow better.
This is a continuing Daggerheart campaign for adults who want swashbuckling adventure, playful magic, mysteries and relationships that grow over time. We use Hope & Fear’s Dark Heart of Andaluria as our starting point, opening its doors to the wonder and warmth of an Iberian fairy tale. New players are welcome; we build the party together in a free Session 0, and I help you learn as we play. Bring a character you want to discover. There is room at the festival table, and the carpet merchant could certainly use a hand.

Your character
We create the party together during a free Session 0. Bring a character idea, a question or simply curiosity; no finished sheet or Daggerheart experience is needed. Perhaps there is a promise your character wants to keep, a family story they doubt, or someone they hope to find. You choose their history, loyalties and desires, and together we give them connections to the party and to Andaluria.
We discuss character options from Daggerheart and Hope & Fear, agree on the starting level and finish your sheet in Quest Portal. Supernatural transformations are possibilities we discuss together, with their gifts, burdens and place in your story. I guide you through the rules as we play.
Before we begin
Bring a computer, a stable internet connection, a working microphone and a Discord account. We use Quest Portal for the game and Discord for voice.
Before our free Session 0, follow your Discord invitation and complete the short safety and preference check. We will make sure you can access the game and help with your character sheet. You do not need to learn Daggerheart in advance. A little curiosity is plenty to begin with.
What I bring
I bring Andaluria to the table through scene art, music, distinct NPC voices and a prepared world that responds to what you do. A market trader has a family to feed; a rival has plans beyond your next encounter. People remember favours, insults and the risks you took for them. Factions keep moving between adventures, and your victories can make lasting changes.
Expect daring duels, rooftop escapes, supernatural mysteries and time to enjoy the people and places you meet. Combat becomes tactical when the situation calls for it, while clever plans, conversation and discoveries can open other paths. I welcome bold ideas and make the stakes clear enough for you to choose your risks.
The tone blends Iberian folklore with the playful wonder of One Thousand and One Nights: warmth, wit, longing and danger, with room for friendship and optional romance. Hope has real power here, and survival is never guaranteed. Your character’s feelings and decisions belong to you.
We play in Quest Portal with Discord voice. New players receive patient help with the rules and room to find their voice at the table.
Our table
Our free Session 0 establishes Lines and Veils, preferences and the tone we want to share. We use X, N and O Cards, and agree on how to signal them. The Open Door is always available: anyone may pause, step away or request a change without explaining why.
Andaluria includes supernatural horror, violence, blood and the possibility of character death, alongside warmth, humour and wonder. Romance is optional, sensuality stays non-explicit, and we agree on boundaries before bringing intimate themes or character transformations into play.
We check in after intense scenes and make time for aftercare and a brief debrief when needed. Meaningful danger for the characters goes together with care and respect for the people playing them.
