TIME IN THE IMPERIUM — WEEK 2 (Warhammer 30/40k)

Eljara
The first person didn’t die from violence.

They died because they were on time.

Sean
That sentence only works
once time has turned hostile.

Eljara
The siren rang.
Shift change.

The transport was logged as delivered.

It wasn’t there.

Sean
So they trusted the clock
over their own senses.

Eljara
The machines started anyway.

Empty crates.
Hands where materials should have been.

No one stopped.

Stopping would have been late.

Sean
This is the escalation point.

Time stops misaligning schedules
and starts misaligning reflexes.

Eljara
The report called it an overlap.

Not a failure.

Sean
Because “overlap” means
no one is responsible.

Only reality.

Eljara
The family was paid.

To the minute.

The minute he was declared dead.

Sean
Not the minute he died.

That one was still under review.

Eljara
People began collapsing.

Not sick.

Out of phase.

Sean
Synchronization injuries.

Bodies failing to match an abstract schedule.

Eljara
The priests rang the bells twice.

Old hour.
New hour.

Sean
A ritual trying to stitch time together.

It failed.

Eljara
After that, people stopped acting.

They calculated.

They waited.

Sean
When action becomes unsafe,
systems don’t collapse.

They ossify.

Eljara
Another death followed.

Perfectly logged.

Sean
Which proves the rule:

Time doesn’t need to be wrong to kill.

It only needs to be absolute.
