Caelwyn & Stacy World of Darkness about time

Stacy: We need a working definition. Not poetry. Something hunters can use.

Caelwyn: Then start here: time isn’t neutral.

Stacy: Everything isn’t neutral in this world. That’s not helpful.

Caelwyn: Time doesn’t attack. It presses.

Stacy: Presses on what?

Caelwyn: On unresolved things.

Stacy: So time isn’t a force. It’s a condition.

Caelwyn: A pressure system.

Stacy: Meaning the longer something exists, the worse it gets.

Caelwyn: Unless it’s resolved.

Stacy: That fits vampires.

Caelwyn: Stagnation.

Stacy: Wraiths too.

Caelwyn: Memory without release.

Stacy: Hunters?

Caelwyn: We step in when the pressure spikes.

Stacy: January matters because it’s a threshold.

Caelwyn: Not a beginning.

Stacy: A stress test.

Caelwyn: When unfinished things surface.

Stacy: So time doesn’t heal.

Caelwyn: No.

Stacy: It accumulates.

Caelwyn: And eventually turns accumulation into danger.

Stacy: Final definition, then.

Caelwyn: Time in the World of Darkness isn’t change.

Stacy: It’s retention.

Caelwyn: The mechanism that preserves unresolved states.

Stacy: And makes them lethal over time.

Stacy: That’s usable.

Caelwyn: It has to be.

Stacy: Because hunters don’t fight time.

Caelwyn: We manage the weight it creates.
