🜍 Caelwyn & Stacy — “Schloss Neu-Bechburg: The Watchers Beneath the Stone”

❓ If the walls you leaned on could listen… would you still whisper the truth?

They reach the castle just before dusk —
a fortress carved into the mountain’s edge,
its stones dark with rain and memory.

Caelwyn runs his hand along the outer wall.
It hums faintly,
like a hive beneath the surface.

“Old mortar,” Stacy mutters, scanning with her device.
“Or something moving inside it.”

He tilts his head.
The air smells of metal,
and the moss between the cracks pulses once — faint, green, deliberate.

Inside, the halls are empty.
No birds.
No echo.
Only the slow breathing of the mountain itself.

In the great hall, torches flicker to life without a sound.
Stacy kneels beside a pillar, tracing a groove in the stone.
It’s not erosion.
It’s script.

“Names,” she says. “Carved from the inside out.”

Caelwyn’s lantern flares.
A face ripples across the wall — human, but unfinished,
as if someone sculpted it from within and stopped before the scream.

The stones tremble.
Not collapsing — awakening.

He draws his blade.
Stacy stands, quiet,
her reflection blinking twice when she only blinks once.

“Caelwyn,” she whispers,
“we’re not inside a castle.
We’re inside a body.”

He doesn’t answer.
The walls are already listening.

❓ If the stone itself began to breathe — would you run, or learn what it remembers first?
